On 4 May 2025, Khadidja Bedoui from Islamic Relief Sweden, along with Islamic Relief Bangladesh’s Country Director Talha Jamal and Programme Manager Md. Shamsuzzaman, visited FDMN Camps 2E and 2W in Ukhiya to observe key WASH and Shelter interventions. They explored several innovative initiatives including the Mini Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), Plastic Exchange Centre, Material Recovery Facility (MRF), Solid Waste Segregation Point, Mid-Term Shelter, PWD-friendly latrines, Hygiene Promotion sessions, and the Bamboo Treatment Plant. A brief yet impactful meeting with CiC Shaed Iqbal, Sr. Assistant Secretary, acknowledged Islamic Relief Bangladesh’s vital role in improving the lives of FDMNs. The visit concluded with a productive discussion at the Ukhiya Field Office, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to ensuring sustainable and dignified support for the forcibly displaced communities.
